Sponsorship
Contributions to Showdown are not only tax-deductible, but they go 100% towards
expanding our program, sustaining the arts, and making a difference in the lives of
hundreds of teens and those around them.

Besides the positive association with a youth arts organization, a $5,000
sponsorship of Showdown also comes with:
Thank you letter from the students
Full page ad in the program
Pass for 4 to the complete Showdown season
Personalized camp T-shirt with your company's name and logo
Mention in all Showdown press releases
Mention and link in website and all other press
 Private lesson in performing arts
Original song, of your choice, performed for you.
Showdown provides:

Community arts enrichment and outreach:  Public performances of plays and other art
forms at community theaters, as well as children's hospitals, senior centers and other places of
need.

A means for bringing families together again:  "Thank you for giving me my daughter back"
(Katherine, mother); "I've been leaving my parents out of my life.  I'm gonna start talking to them
again."  (Lauren, 15)

A vital opportunity to build a better community by enriching the lives of our youth.  By
involving them in positive self-expression and helping them realize their importance, Showdown
teaches teens how to become more productive members of society.

A way to deal with today's issues head-on.  After Columbine and Virginia Tech, a shattered
nation asked "how could this happen?  What can we do to keep it from happening again?"
Showdown doesn't claim to have all the answers, but we provide a safe and empowering place
to ask the questions. Showdown students look at today's issues and try to find answers.

Everyone knows the passage from adolescence to adulthood is a roller-coaster ride,
full of ups & downs, thrills, terror and laughter.  But for an increasing number of teens,
it's all downhill.

Teenagers and young adults experience the highest rate of violence: they're 2.5x more likely
than adults to be victims of violence. *

About 1 in 3 high school students have been or will be involved in an abusive relationship. **

Severe verbal/emotional aggression in the family was reported by 50% of teenagers in one
 survey. +

Untreated depression is the number one cause of teen suicide.  About 20% of teens will
experience teen depression before they reach adulthood, but less than a third will get help. ^
