QUIXOTE
Quixote - Story Synopsis
Cervantes Masterpiece Don Quixote De La Mancha gets an extreme makeover.
Set in modern day La Mancha New Mexico the story follows the tale of Alonzo
Quijana, in his junior year at La Mancha high. Alonzo is an outcast who doesn't fit
into any of the pre-approved social groups.
A loner who dreams of a better time, when a single man could change the course
of tomorrow and Knights upheld justice, chivalry, and all things good.
But the pressures of High school make Alonzo's mind snap. He sheds his old
skin and is reborn as Don Quixote De La Mancha. Arming himself with a wooden
sword, a street sign lance, and his old Schwinn bike, he sets out to protect the
meek and save distressed damsels.
He instantly falls in love with Donna, the girl from the Toboso Coffee shop and
dubs her his beloved Dulcinea del Toboso. With his strange sidekick Sancho
Panza at his side, he is now ready to right all the wrongs in the world.
Quixote is a musical comedy that takes a serious look at teen angst. The
pressures to fit in, the fragile line of popularity, the thin grasp we all have on
sanity. Can one lone voice in the crowd make the world a better place?
